Micro Keg anyone? Brick house is your place!

What could be better than a nice glass of cold beer? Well Brick House has something better than just one glass of beer. They have micro kegs for the customers to purchase. This is a pretty interesting concept. Going to a tavern and getting your choice of: Coors Light, Warsteiner, Heineken, Grolsch, or Paulaner Hefe-Weizen.

Okay, so most of us know what Coors Light and Heineken are but what the heck are the other beer options that you can get in a keg?

Warsteiner, this is a beer that I have yet to hear about. Warsteiner beer is a German beer from 1516. There are several different levels of this beer according to their website. There is a Premium Fresh beer that is 0.03% alcohol once it reaches its full matured level. Premium Verum beer is an international premium pilsener that has a slightly tart taste. Premium Dunkel beer is a dark beer that has the true lager beer it is rich and smooth and has a sweet after bite.

Grolsch beer was crafted in 1676 from the Netherlands. It is best known as a pale lager that has a bold and hoppy taste to it. Grolsch beer is made from water, barley, hops, and yeast. There are many stages to creating this beer. In addition to the unique taste you get from Grolsch, this beer also comes in many different forms. There is a swingtop, crowntop, draught and can beers.

Furthermore, at Brick house you can also get Paulaner Hefe- Weizen in the form of a micro keg. Paulaner Hefe- Weizen is a German beer that is ranked highly by German sales. This particular beer is great for sitting around and relaxing with some friends after a long day.

For those of you are enjoy sitting down with micro kegs there are a variety of websites in which you can buy micro kegs with many of beer choices as well. However, for some of the more experienced beer goeres there is always the option if installing a micro keg in the comfort of your own refrigerator. Micro Matic  is the perfect solution to your home beer needs.

So Brick House has many things to offer but a micro keg is by far a great way to enjoy some good beer with some good friends.

Brick House! A great thirst quencher.

The next location on our journey is Brick House. Brick House is fun with a variety of local beers to quench your thirst. They house many unique imports; american cans and bottles, 40's and even micro kegs. Now a place that serves micro kegs is a place I want to check out. In addition to the beer selection they food is scares but oh so yummy.

Brick House like World Of Beers has a great atmosphere and attracts many different age groups and crowds. They hold many events such as St. Patrick Day celebrations and a events which are different. For instance, on Tuesday nights they hold Pint Night. Pint Nights feature a different pint of beer every Tuesday night which is on special. The specials change allowing you to get a great deal on several different beers and allows the customers to try new things.

The location is great in the heart of Fort Lauderdale, Florida but it doesn't stop there. They have 15 different locations and new ones are always opening.

Brick House is a great spot to hang out grab a cold beer, a bite to eat and enjoy company with Friends. Keep checking my blog to find out more about all that Brick House has to offer.

Well, I think I really need to move on and cover some other venues... There are many more locations that I want to take a trip to... Brickhouse and The Lodge are to name a few... Im thinking Roxy's too.

Just like World Of Beers, these three locations all have some great things to add. A great atmosphere and great beers.

What goes great with an Ice Cold Beer... Food

I don't thank that there is anything that goes better with a nice ice cold enjoyable beer then food. Just picture drinking your all time favorite beer and enjoying some chicken wings. Nothing can beat that.

When many of us college students go out to bars we don't think about the food aspect. We just want to beer and the cheap prices and the drink specials. That goes for many adults too. They wants the beer and the game and if there is food good, if not, oh well.

World Of Beers is a great location, the beer list is incredible and the environment is even better. But we will discuss that later on. I think many fans of WOB or event people who are craving to go there will find this quite interesting.

How in the world do you make food and please your customers without a kitchen. And yes, WOB does have a food menu, a real enjoyable menu at that.

I was curious as to where the wide variety of food was coming from and then it hit me, WOB partners with the local restaurants in the Promenade and that is where the food comes from. It is an interesting concept if you ask me.

There are many benefits to doing business this way:
  • WOB continues to make money on the price of beer when the food is brought to the customers. This prevents customers from closing out their tabs to go and get food but instead encourages them to stay enjoy their beer and food.
  • Customers are happier because they do not have to break up their groups. Lets say three people are hungry but the other four are happy at the bar. If they didn't serve food a choice would have to be made.
  • This is convenient for the WOB too, they don't have to hire a cook and they don't have to take up bar space to add a kitchen.
I feel that this was a great concept, that working with the neighborhood locations brings business for all. Customers are happy, the business is happy and it is a win win situation.
The next time someone tries to tell you the food at WOB is better then Buffalo's. Let them know... it's the same food. haha.

World Of Beer.. 500 beers, lets start the taste test.

This summer (2010) I had the experience of a life time. I went to London for six weeks and experienced so much of their culture and of course their beers. This is what triggered this blog. I came home to find, World Of Beers, which housed all the great taste I found in London. When I go to the bar, it brings back memories of such good nights out.

World Of Beers houses over 500 beers! That is a lot of beers in one location. But, they don't house the general American Beers. Do not go to this location expecting a Bud light or Miller. Because you simply won't find it.

This leaves a problem for many... how do you find a good beer to drink?

Taste...Taste...Taste...

Simple solution. At World Of Beers give the bartenders a challenge and they will give you a shot. The bartenders are experienced when it comes to beer, they kind of have to be. So when a customer walks in wanting that Bud Light, they will pour you three shots of beer. Those shots are to help the customers figure out the beer that taste the closet to that Bud Light. If three shots are not enough, they will keep them coming.

When I go to World Of Beers, I have a hard time breaking out of my shell. I love the ciders they offer from London, Blackthorn being my favorite. It tastes like Apple Juice :). However, for the times I like to break out and try something new. I usually just ask a waitress or bartender for a Cider that is similar to blackthorn and I am always surprised with something new.

The taste test idea is such a good idea, this allows the customers to find a beer they are happy with. There is nothing worse then paying $5 for a beer and hating it. Especially when the Beers are not American!

Loyal to your beer? Get a Loyalty Card from World Of Beers with lots of incentives.

Are you a Loyal Beer drinker? Do you enjoy the a nice cold beer after a hard day at work? Well I know many people who do and that can get crazy expensive. Think about everytime you have a drink... the price can range from $3.00 to $6.00 in one sitting for one beer. That adds up in the long run. And being a college student you really see that adding up fast.

Another neat charteristic about World of Beers is that they have just the think for all the loyal beer customers out there. A Loyalty Card. The loyalty card is every beer drinkers enjoyment.

  • The Loyalty Card allows WOB to reward its prime time customers, you know the ones who enjoy beer as much as well WOB.
  • For each beer you drink points are rewarded
So, you spend weeks on end at the bar, trying all the beers they have to offer and you finally reach that 500 mark. Now think about it, there are some beers you taste which wow they are not good and others you enjoy so much you want to stick with just them... But you have to try different beers in order to complete the tasks. But what exactly does this adventurous beer drinker get:

  • 50 Different Beers= a "50 Club" t-shirts
  • 100 Different Beers= a" 100 Club" Beer mug and T-shirt
  • 250 Different Beers= Your name engraved on the wall of fame and a "250 Club" Golf Shirt
  • 500 Different Beers= you are a beer god! A party at WOB in your name and a free bar tab up to $250.

Well are you up for the challenge? Because getting the card would be the easy part but drinking 500 beers now that is a challenge.

World Of Beers. Is it in your budget? Now it can be.

World Of Beers might be a great place to hang out. A great addition to Coconut Creek and to the Promenade but what age group are they drawing in. Is a single lady in her 20's going here to find a great guy or is it a night out after a hard day at the office.

The answer is quite simple... Both. World Of Beers draws in people from all age groups. There are nights I go there and my friends and I are the youngest and the age group is predominately 30's. But, some nights we go and it is a young crowd.

This got me thinking, why is there such an age gap of people who go to WOB. I came to idea that while they have a great deal of selections and while the entertainment is amazing... the pricing may not be the best in town for a college student.

The cheapest beer you can buy is $6.50. For one beer that is kind of expensive. I mean there are so many places you can go and great outrageous drink specials and even ladies nights. But at WOB you are paying for a quality beer. You're paying for quality over quantity.

While they do a great business, I think they started to pick up on the idea that they need to start cutting some break to us college students. WOB offers College Nights on Wednesday nights from 9 pm to close ( 2 am ) What college night meets is show a valid college identification card and you are now a member of "WOB university." The benefit to enrolling in the FREE program. ( what college student doesn't like the word free) is that you are entitled to half off all draft beers. ( what college student doesn't like the word half off... unless it is half of the quantity of beer then we have a problem, but in their case it is of the price of the beer. So were good to go).

WOB has taken part in many other nights of specials as well. For instance, they now host Ladies' Night on Thursday Night offering half off select wines and drafts. They offer discounts for those who are "in the Biz" and if you lucky enough to have signed up for a Loyalty Card well there are specials for you as well.

Beer Menu for the Beer lover

WOB has a beer for all occasions and for all taste buds too. Their menu is not your standard menu; instead, it is a book. That truly shows the variety, which is offered at just one location. You no longer have to bar hop to get the right beer or taste.

To start, there are more than 40 draft beers and the menu is two pages. Two pages of draft beers is crazy. They come in all different percentages as well as different taste. The drafts range from Ales, Lagers, and even Ciders. If you are unsure of the draft that you would like to experience, WOB offers a concept unlike any other... BEER SHOTS. How fun is that? Taking shots of beers to find the one that taste the best. How about mixing beer? They also offer customers the change to mix draft beers. A concept that is strange if you ask me but a hit at WOB.

Also included on their menu, is a list of bottle beers. I hope your sitting for this one because the bottle list is a book itself. There are 12 pages of bottle beer that one can buy. All alphabetized, with the origin, style and alcohol percentage. Twelve pages is a lot of pages for beer, but that makes the experience so much fun. You can try beer after beer after beer. And if you are unsure of where to start, the bartenders will give great recommendations.

Although WOB doesn't serve Liquor, they do have a nice wine menu. They house white wines, red wines, and a nice champaign. The wines come anywhere from California to Italy, And New Zealand to Washington. It is a nice mix incase you are just not up for a beer night.

WOB has an extensive menu when it comes to drinking. They provide so much variation and so many choices. But what about if you get hungry?
